The Zoo

On the 1st of May, the year fives went to the zoo! We were interested in bugs.
We have learned a lot about our New Zealand bugs and the parts of their body.

Here is some student voice about our visit to the Zoo and Bug Lab!

“We learnt a lot of information about the bugs and we learnt the names of the body
parts of the bugs.
There’s the head, thorax, abdomen, antennae, legs and wings for some.
We also learnt the groups for the bugs, insect (has six legs) (crustacean has 10 legs) Danielle

“Some were cute and some were fat but we enjoyed the experience,”  Isaac and Charlie.

“We learnt a lot about the bugs. The Weta bug lab was very special and

it is something we would not be able to see anywhere else.”

“ My favourite part of the Zoo trip was visiting the Bug Lab because

“We made a bee and then had to present the finished bee to the class and talk about the parts of its body." Aria and Rylee

    

"We were making a bug by putting all the different body parts together, We learnt some of the parts of the bug." Veronica and Zahara.

In our group, most of the bugs we chose had six legs. Sienna H”

Friday 6/4/18 -Blog 1

Holly and Danielle: Hi we are Holly and Danielle you will be seeing alot of us and our class so you might as well get to know us!!!! We are the authors of our class blog!

Nathan and Rylee: We think science is fun and so is maths we are also class clowns!:  

Adison and Charlie: We are both animal lovers we and like writing.

Seidee and Tate: We are good at maths and love it and enjoy the sport.

Sienna H and Benji: We love science and art but the best time is playtime and fitness

Zara and Kevin: We both have a cat at home and we love dogs and sport is fun.

Veronica, James, and Declan: We are good at art and like dogs are cute.

Zahara and Raika: We both like reading and math. we are very good at sport and art.

Maisie and Cruz: We love SLEEPING and getting ready for a new day of school! We both do Kapa Haka!

Aria and Isaac: We think art is a fun subject and we both like cats.

Sienna W and Kory: We both LOVE unicorns and the colour of them. Reading books is a lot of fun.

Chloe and Zuhayr: We both love art and Writing and enjoy drawing.

Dora and Deacon: We enjoy playing in the nature garden at lunch and read new and interesting books.


Sharing our work with our year 2 buddy classOn Fridays in the middle block, we meet our buddies either in their classroom or ours. Today was the first time in our class. We shared our work with our buddies and everyone enjoyed being with their buddies. We all are looking forward to the next visit.
